How To Match Wire Rope Structure With Daily Use

Jun 03, 2026|

Wire rope is not only chosen by diameter. The inner structure also matters. A 1x7 or 1x19 structure is firm and keeps a straighter shape, so it is often used for stays, handrail support, fence lines, and light architectural fixing. A 6x19 or 7x19 structure bends more easily, so it is better when the rope needs to pass around a pulley, loop, thimble, or small winch. Before buying, the user should check the working load, rope path, bending radius, and end fixing method.

The surface treatment also needs attention. Galvanized rope is more suitable for outdoor air and normal water splash than bright uncoated rope. Stainless steel rope is used when the place is humid for a long time or when the surface needs to stay cleaner. Good packing also helps. Coils should be tied well, marked by size, and kept away from wet ground during storage.
